ABOUT ALVORADA
JIU-JITSU
Founded by Johnif Rocha to inspire and change peoples lives to better with the Art of Jiu-Jitsu.
Alvorada Jiu-Jitsu is located in Alpenstrasse 8, 3072 Ostermundigen, in the beautiful Canton of Bern.
THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME ALVORADA.
Alvorada is a Portuguese word meaning "the first light of the day" - symbolising the beginning of something new. It encompasses the presence of new opportunities that present themselves to us every single day.
Alvorada is also the name of the neighborhood Johnif Rocha grew up and started training Jiu-Jitsu in.

Johnif Rocha is a 2x World Champion. Johnif started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Alvorada / Manaus-Amazonas, Brazil at the age of 9 in 2007. After receiving his blue belt from his first instructor Karina Dias in 2014, He moved to São Paulo to join the legendary Cicero Costha Academy. After some years of training and winning many major titles in Brazil, Johnif moved to California in 2017 to train and compete.
In December of 2017, Johnif achieved his dream of winning the IBJJF World Championship. In January of 2018 Johnif travel to Europe for the first time to compete at the European Championship, where he became European Champion. Few weeks later, Johnif visits Switzerland for his first time, after which he travels back to the USA to compete at IBJJF World Championship - where he became a World Champion for the second time.
In the summer of 2018, Johnif Rocha permanently moved to Switzerland to train and teach Jiu-Jitsu. In 2019, Johnif competed at the IBJJF Pan-American Championships and came home with one more Gold!. The Pan-American title gave Johnif the ranking points to be nominated the best athlete of the Year by Flograppling in his division!
Johnif Rocha has now taken on the mission to share the lessons, techniques, experiences, and more that he has learned along his 14 years and counting as a BJJ student, teacher, and World-Class competitor.

LAURIE ROCHA

Laurie Rocha is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Athlete and 3x European Champion.
Laurie started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Neuchâtel at the Fight Move Academy when she was 15 years old in 2016. In 2017 she won her First European Championship and in 2018 Laurie become a World Pro Champion in Abu Dhabi. Some months later Laurie move to Honolulu (Hawaii) to do 3 months of English School but stayed 9 months after she started training at Island Jiu-Jitsu / Atos Honolulu, an Academy under Jason Vigil.
